We are part of the internationally recognized Green Activity sustainability program and Visit Finland’s responsible tourism program.

Johka’s values are respecting nature, environment and safety and investment in the well-being of the staff.

Sustainability means concrete actions for us like:

• Respecting the values of nature, such as not leaving traces in the environment and informing our customers about the local nature.

• The goal is also to reduce the carbon footprint by changing the fuel into to renewable fossil-free fuel, during 2024.

• Focusing on customers’ and employees’ safety.

  • All our guides have first aid training and insurance.

  • Vehicles are new and well-maintained.

  • Risk and crisis management are considered in our operations and staff training.

  • Safety is particularly important to us due to the arctic nature and the long distances.
